By default, SmartCite will automatically generate a bibliography as you insert citations; the moment you add a SmartCite citation to your document, a bibliography will appear at the bottom of your document.
However, you can turn this feature off if you prefer to update your bibliography manually.
To do this, head to "options" in SmartCite and turn off automatically bibliography updates:
Now when you add a new citation, it will not update on its own. However, you can update your document at any time by navigating here:
