If you don't have Smartcite installed with Microsoft Word, you can still use the quick format option to copy individual formatted references to your clipboard to export and insert into your document.
You can also use the Copy > Formatted References to export multiple references as BibTeX format, full summaries, or as custom formatted references. The desktop app has the ability to set a custom style via the Papers Settings menu.
These references will be copied to your clipboard where you can paste them directly into your Word document.
